As We Grow is the debut record from Scottish indie-folk outfit Arbor Green. Melancholic, defiant, self-searching and hopeful, it is a collection of songs that trace the struggles and stigmas surrounding grief and mental illness. The songs on this album are primarily the product of songwriter Ali Begg’s coming of age whilst coming to terms with the death of hismother, who ended her long struggle with mental illness in 2015.

Beginning life as a bedroom record –As We Grow quickly grew to feature a startling array of guest musicians from different corners of the Scottish music scene, including:

•Drummer James MacKintosh (Shooglenifty/Transatlantic Sessions/Kaela Rowan)

•Keyboardist Brian McApline (Session A9/Karen Matheson/Mark Knopfler/The Pearlfishers)

•Singer Beldina Odenyo (Heir of the Cursed/Kobi Onyame)

•Fiddler and singer Hannah Fisher (Idlewild/Roddy Woomble/King Creosote)
